It has officially been one year since we rebranded with the AcCount Above name! It’s been a wild ride. We encountered adversity every step of the way this past year, but we powered through it and are stronger as a team for it. Thank you for your support during all the changes. We are starting 2019 eager, happy, and ready to rock!
This time last year, we were keeping you on the edge of your seat in suspense about our new logo and colors to go along with the AcCount Above name. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, the wait is over.
AcCountAbove.com has been live and is a great resource to contact us, be reminded of the services we offer, and read about the team in the ‘About Us’ section. Not to give too much away, but we have team members that are progressive rockers, sudoku whizzes, and soccer fanatics to name a few. To keep up with the team throughout the year, you can also find us on Instagram (@account_above), Facebook (@accountabove), Twitter (@account_above), as well as our website blog. These social media platforms have allowed us to share things like Ryan’s colorful work sock collection, team jersey day, as well as tax related information.
Ok, now for some business and process updates!
First off, we are excited to announce a new member of our team that started January 8, 2019. Welcome to Nicole Miller, who will be our Office Assistant heading up the administrative side in the Portland office! She will be working closely with our Office Coordinator, Michelle, who is primarily at our Vancouver location.
Last year we told you that our firm is all about relationships. That is still 100% true! To build the best working relationship year after year, we are now having one of our Staff Accountants assigned to each client. They will serve as a point of contact, in addition to Ryan, who knows the ins and outs of each client’s situation and/or business. Another advantage to having an additional point of contact is it allows our team to respond to you even faster. We want to make sure we are taking care of you!
This year we made a big push to be digital. Our secure portal, Sharefile, is a great way for us to drop sensitive files to our clients and vice versa. We are urging clients to use Sharefile, rather than email, for their security when sending us documents electronically. If you do not have a Sharefile login, please let Michelle know and she will set that up for you. Don’t worry, we still love when you drop by the offices to deliver documents! That method works perfectly well for us, too.
Our 2018 tax organizer is now available. We have a list of everyone who requested one last year and we will be sending those out this week. This is a great tool for tax organization. If you are interested in receiving one, just give us a heads up, and we will get it sent out to you.
New this year, Ryan will be charging billable time if he has a sit-down meeting during tax document drop off/pick up. You are also welcome to schedule a meeting with your Staff Accountant, instead of Ryan, if you prefer. Don’t hesitate to keep e-mailing and calling with questions throughout the year, as those will continue to be free unless we tell you ahead of time. We never get tired of hearing from you!
Some of you may be wondering where everyone is located on any given day. That is a great question! With a small firm and two locations, we have a lot of things (or people) in motion. It’s all part of the crazy day-to-day that we find fun! Michelle, Zoe, and Aaron are mainly in Vancouver. Debra, Sigmund, Tim, and Nicole are our main Portland crew. Chris mostly works from his home office in Salem. Typically, Ryan is in the Portland office for meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays, and takes meetings in Vancouver on Tuesdays and Fridays. Sometimes this schedule can vary, but luckily Michelle is our calendar wizard and can help get you on the calendar if needed. Otherwise, you can try to flag Ryan down on I-205 while he’s traveling between both offices.
Hopefully all these updates have you as excited for tax season as we are! Ok, it’s alright if you don’t get that excited for tax season, but that’s what we’re here for. We love coming to work every day because we get to work with you!
Can’t wait for what’s in store for 2019!
